As soon as this family contacted me I felt a sense of excitement and nervousness.

At the end of the summer I received an email asking if I would take some family photos of them all enjoying their holiday in the UK, they were coming from Texas, USA and were staying for 10 days in the Eastbourne area.

Of course I said yes, it would be a real honour!

I love travelling so I was so excited to meet the family and hear their stories of holidays and home but at the same time I always get a sense of nervousness as I always want my shoots to be perfect.

There was extra pressure this time as there would be no second-shoot if the weather was awful or the child wasn’t in the right “mood”.

The family had been having annual photoshoots in America with their usual photographer which they have loved, so it’s impossible for me not to add that pressure on to myself too.

Thankfully the shoot went perfectly, the weather was warm, everyone was happy and the sunset was amazing, but most of all they loved their photos and said such beautiful things to me!
